What to Do for an Irrigation System Leak

Locate Your Backflow Device: The backflow device prevents water from flowing back into your main water supply. It's usually found above ground or in a ground box with a lid. Look for a bronze-colored device with handles on both sides.
Turn Off the Water: Once you've found the backflow device, use pliers to turn either handle to the off position. This will stop the water flow to your irrigation system.
Check for Water Shutoff: Wait a minute or two and confirm that the water has stopped flowing. This indicates that you've successfully turned off the water supply.
